Cerebra Participates in TAV Airports’ Anti-Corruption Event

As part of the International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9, a special event hosted by TAV Airports brought together its employees and leaders to raise awareness of anti-corruption efforts and offer solution-oriented approaches. 

The event opened with a speech by Can Alptekin, Head of Audit, Risk, and Compliance at TAV Airports. Alptekin emphasized the importance of corporate governance in combating corruption and highlighted TAV Airports’ pioneering role in this area. In addition to underlining the significance of anti-corruption efforts within the company, he pointed out that it is also a broader societal issue. Franck Mereyde, a Member of the Executive Board of TAV Airports, addressed participants via video message, stressing the importance of the organization to the global business community and the crucial role of ethics and compliance on this journey. 

Fikret Sebilcioğlu Shared Insights on Anti-Corruption 

Fikret Sebilcioğlu, Managing Partner at Cerebra, was one of the keynote speakers at the event. In his session titled “Findings from Occupational Fraud 2024: A Report to the Nations”, Sebilcioğlu provided a detailed analysis of the report’s key findings and shared insights into the lessons companies in Turkey can draw to strengthen their anti-corruption strategies. 

In-Depth Discussions at the Risks and Opportunities Panel 

The panel titled “Risks and Opportunities”, moderated by Fikret Sebilcioğlu, featured TAV Airports Deputy CEO and CFO Burcu Geriş and Head of Audit, Risk, and Compliance Can Alptekin as panelists. The panel delved into the corruption risks faced by companies on global and local levels and explored ways to turn these challenges into opportunities. Additionally, the discussion covered the impact of anti-corruption strategies on sustainable growth. 

Burcu Geriş highlighted the importance TAV Airports places on anti-corruption as a global company and the reasons behind this commitment. Can Alptekin elaborated on the significance of adherence to TAV’s ethics and compliance program, whistleblowing practices, and the company’s approach to managing conflicts of interest in the fight against corruption. The panel concluded with messages from the speakers emphasizing that combating corruption is a shared responsibility for all employees. 

The event ended with closing remarks by Serkan Kaptan, CEO of TAV Airports. Kaptan underlined the importance of collective effort in combating corruption and thanked all participants for their contributions.
