Gökhan Çalışır

Professional Experience and Expertise 

Gökhan Çalışır is a senior consultant at Cerebra.  He joined Cerebra in 2021. He has worked on forensic accounting, fraud investigation, internal audit and internal control projects, third party risk management and open source intelligence. 

During his 2 years of experience at PWC Independent Audit Firm, Gökhan performed tasks such as verifying the accuracy of financial assets and liabilities of companies, checking the compliance of financial reports with TFRS (Turkish Financial Reporting Standard) and TAS (Turkish Accounting Standard) regulations. Subsequently, he worked in the Fund Custody Unit of Denizbank’s Head Office for almost a year, providing custody services to real estate and venture capital funds and managing transactions such as cash and securities settlement of portfolio management companies’ transactions on the stock exchange. 

Some of the tasks Gökhan Çalışır has performed in the projects he has worked on at Cerebra are as follows: 

• Identifying control weaknesses and areas for improvement of organizations, reporting the findings, designing corrective and preventive action plans, and monitoring these action plans, 
• Assessing the credibility of allegations in fraud projects, collecting and analyzing the necessary information and documents, conducting interviews with relevant individuals and suspects, 
• Structuring internal control systems, understanding the company’s activities and related risks, assessing appropriate controls to mitigate these risks, and preparing business cycle flowcharts and narratives,
• The implementation of intelligence techniques in the projects in which he is involved.
