2019 Transparency Summer School Took Place

Transparency International Turkey organized the 2019 Transparency Summer School training program hosted by Sabancı University.

The program which was designed as a governance school focusing on transparency, accountability, participation principles and combating corruption among university students from different disciplines was held between 22 July – 2 August, hosted by Sabancı University.

In Transparency Summer School; training seminars were held on topics such as good governance principles, anti-corruption, ethics, compliance policies in the private sector, policy financing, data training, conflict of interest, investigative journalism and transparency. In addition to seminars, film screenings, interviews and outdoor activities took place in the program.

At the 2018 Transparency Summer School, Fikret Sebilcioğlu, Managing Partner of Cerebra CPAs & Advisor and board member of Transparency International Turkey delivered a presentation on occupational fraud. Fikret Sebilcioğlu talked about employees’ misconduct through private sector perspective, its detection and prevention methods, as well as precautions which can be taken for improving ethics and compatibility culture in companies, and also answered students’ questions.

Some 100 students participated to the program from universities and different branches throughout Turkey. During the programme, academicians, private sector representatives and journalists gave lectures on transparency, good management and fighting against corruption and lively discussions were held.
